After that, the UA’s annual Homecoming Parade will make it’s way down Dickson Street at 6 p.m.

A couple Halloween parties are planned on Friday nigh has well. There’s “Bands as Bands at Smoke & Barrel. The Good Fear (featuring Flyer co-founders Todd Gill and Dustin Bartholomew) will perform as Six Tom Petties, locals The Airplanes will play as Weezer, and Teenagers will play a set of Cars songs. Admission is $5.

Local DJ Beat Bachs will also host his annual Halloween blow out/dance party. This year, they’re transforming Hawaiian Brian’s into a spooky/awesome Halloween party zone.

There are only two Saturday Farmers’ Markets on the Fayetteville square left this season, and one of them is this Saturday starting at 7 a.m. Get down there while you can.

The Razorback basketball team will hold an open practice at 11 a.m., and showing off for 5-star recruit Malik Monk at Bud Walton Arena. Stop by before tailgating, maybe.

The Football Hogs will take on Tennessee-Martin at 3 p.m. for their Homecoming game this year at Razorback Stadium.

There’s a pub crawl starting at Jose’s at 7 p.m., with “Scary-oke” (get it), t-shirts, and prizes. It’ll be a good night to be out and about checking out all the costumes on Dickson.

Live music-wise, local favorite and frequent Fayetteville visitor Andy Frasco & The UN is at George’s, and there’s a metal show at The Lightbulb Club with and Auric, Barren, Dissonant Possession.

There’s a big old art and music show at Backspace called Grotesque Art & Music Halloween Spectacular. A bunch of local artists will show their work, and there’s music with by Candy Lee, The Chads, Noise Counseling, Witchsister, and Rat Brats.

How about a dance party? Maxine’s is having a huge Studio 54-themed one, complete with Pop Art on the walls, and DJ’s Robe Flax and Sam Houser spinning some mod tunes.

Finally, the Last Saturday variety show at Fayetteville Underground is doing a Woodstock ’69 theme, with Amanda Rey performing as Janis Joplin, Jimmy Wayne Garrett and The Liberty Bell Rhythm Band performing as The Jimi Hendrix Experience, and The Truman Rail Boys performing as The Band. Here’s more info about the show.

There’s an enormous show at George’s on Sunday. It’s a benefit for dancing man Ralph Odom (affectionately known as Giant Mountain Troll), who lost his house in a fire recently. Local bands Dawn Cate and the Rhythm Kings, Earls Garage, Leah & The Mojo Doctors, Oreo Blue, The Nace Brothers, and The Cate Brothers will perform. Here’s more info.

There’s also a benefit at Greenhouse Grille. The Natural State Burial Association, an organization working to create green burial grounds in Northwest Arkansas and educate the community about alternative death care, will be raising funds for their new non-profit. Details are here.
