Fayetteville Bulldog football team wins 7A state title

The Fayetteville Bulldogs won their fourth football state title this past weekend.

The Purple Dogs defeated Springdale Har-Bar 28-7 in the 7A championship game held at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock on Saturday, Dec. 5.

It’s the third time in the last five years the Bulldogs have finished the season as state champs, all under current head coach Daryl Patton.

Senior safety Joey Savin helped lead the Bulldogs to victory on Saturday, and was named MVP of the game. The Bulldogs defense dominated, holding the explosive Har-Ber offense to just 278 yards, and forcing the Wildcats to commit six turnovers.

The Bulldogs finished the season with a 12-2 overall record.

Congrats, Purple Dogs.
