Boil order does not affect City of Fayetteville water customers

A boil order issued early Tuesday does not affect City of Fayetteville water customers, according to a representative with the division.

A broken water main near Prairie Grove led to a boil order for a majority of Washington Water Authority customers, but only 14 Fayetteville homes were affected, including 11 homes on South Cato Springs Road, two homes on West Kessler Mountain Road, and one home on West Pear Road. Residents in those homes were notified early Tuesday, according to Mark Rogers, manager of Fayetteville Water & Sewer Operations.

According to the Arkansas Department of Health website, the order applies to all Washington Water Authority customers except those with account numbers starting with 02, 03, 12 or 20.
