Railroad work to close Hill and University avenues

  • By Todd Gill · Wednesday, Jan 6, 2016

Reconstruction work at two Arkansas Missouri Railroad crossings will require road closures on Hill and University avenues this week in Fayetteville.

Expect closures in the following areas:

– South Hill Avenue from West Stone Street to Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard on Wednesday, Jan. 6 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
– South University Avenue from West Putman Street to South Gregg Avenue on Thursday, Jan. 7 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

According to a news release, railroad crews will replace deteriorated timbers with new concrete panels at both crossings. City transportation workers will then replace the asphalt leading up to the crossings.

For more information about the project, call John Cummings with Arkansas Missouri Railroad at 479-871-3471.
