On The Map music festival adds Bleached and Tristen to 2016 lineup

Organizers of the On The Map independent music festival this week added two more artists to the 2016 lineup.

L.A. rockers Bleached and Nashville indie-pop songstress Tristen will join the list of six other bands scheduled to play at the event, set for March 24-25 at the Fayetteville Town Center.

It will be the first stop in Fayetteville for both artists, who each have new releases coming in 2016.

Organizers of the inaugural event are hoping to put Fayetteville back on the radar for national independent music booking agents who have mostly gotten out of the habit of sending bands through town since the closure of Clunk Music Hall and the original JR’s Lightbulb Club (see our original story).

The event will take some cues from Hot Springs’ Valley of the Vapors independent music festival, which capitalizes on the stream of bands who are headed back home (or continuing tours) after performing at South by Southwest in Austin each Spring.

Early bird two-day passes are on sale for $35 through today (Jan. 19). After that, prices are expected to increase to $50. Single-day passes for Thursday or Friday are available for $25.
