Chamber to host candidate forums for local primary races

The candidate forums will be held in the conference room at the Chamber’s former location at 123 W. Mountain St.

The Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce will host a series forums for candidates in the upcoming Preferential Primary and Nonpartisan Judicial General Elections over the next three weeks, according to Jennifer Irwin, the chamber’s director of communications.

The forums will take place in the conference room at the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce’s former office building, at 123 W. Mountain St. near the downtown square.

Each forum will be conducted in a panel format, with candidates giving opening statements, followed by questions from those in the audience, before final closing remarks.

Forums are scheduled as follows:

  • Tuesday, February 9, 2016
    5:30 – 6:30 p.m. – County Collector: Teresa Soares and Angela Wood
    6:45 – 7:45pm – County Judge: Josh Mahoney and Alderman Mark Kinion
  • Tuesday, February 16, 2016
    5:30 – 6:30 p.m. – State House District 89: Jeff Williams and Charles Gaines
    6:45 – 7:45 p.m. – State Senate District 7: Sharon Lloyd and Representative Lance Eads
  • Tuesday, February 23, 2016
    6 – 7 p.m. – Nonpartisan Judicial Offices, District Court, Division 2: Judge Graham Nations and Casey D. Copeland

Primary elections are scheduled for March 1. Early voting begins on Feb. 16. For more information, and a list of polling places, visit co.washington.ar.us.
