It’s Fat Tuesday, y’all. Who’s ready to revel?

There are a handful of Mardi Gras-themed events set for tonight (Feb. 9) in Fayetteville for those who are looking to celebrate, New Orleans-style.

Here’s what we know about them.

Fat Tuesday Pub Crawl

The annual Fat Tuesday Pub Crawl is set for tonight on Dickson Street.

Revelers will meet up at 7 p.m. at Farrell’s Lounge on Dickson Street, and will crown the royalty of the Demented Krewe of Dickson at around 8 p.m.

After that, a pub crawl led by Billy Zydeco Band will visit several bars along the street starting at 8:30 p.m. It’s free to participate (well, you gotta buy your own drinks), and it’s pretty informal. Anyone can join the fun.

Crescent City Combo

Fayetteville’s favorite (only?) New Orleans-style horn band Crescent City combo will perform a free Fat Tuesday show at Maxine’s Tap Room Tuesday night.

The band features an all-star lineup of local musicians including Jeff Gray (trumpet) Matt Beach (trombone), Drew Packard (guitar), Isayah Warford (guitar), Jeremy Irving (bass), Anthony Ball (drums), Johnny Arredondo (drums) and Clare Starr (bass).

The bar will also serve classic New Orleans cocktails, and a portion of the proceeds from the evening will benefit the American Diabetes Association’s Kiss a Pig fundraiser.

There’s no cover, either.

Chase the Blues Away Mardi Gras celebration

Mermaid’s restaurant hosts a Mardi Gras celebration tonight.

The event is a fundraiser for the Chase Family Foundation, and will include music by Mojo Trio, prizes, a wine pull, silent auction and more.

A $60 ticket includes a Cajun dinner, wine, and a champagne bar until 6:30 p.m. (A cash bar will be available after that).

Tickets are available at chasefamilyfoundation.com. The event will take place from 6-10 p.m.
