Here’s the craft beer selection at the new Whole Foods

Fans of organic groceries aren’t the only ones curious about the product selection at the new Whole Foods Market in Fayetteville.

Beer lovers are also anxiously awaiting the unveiling of the craft beer case at the new 29,000-square-foot store set to open March 2 on North College Avenue.

Because if there’s one thing craft beer fans know well aside from hops, malt and yeast, it’s the lowdown on where to find the best packaged beer in town.

We already know about the 16-tap taproom. But what about the bottles and cans?

If you’re one of those folks who just can’t wait to find out what’s inside the newest store in town, this one’s for you.

The focus is definitely on true craft breweries, with most of the bland macro brands occupying the bottom shelves. The selection is bigger than most, but not as massive as what’s found across the street at Liquor World. Also, there’s no build-your-own six-pack program in place (although store officials told us they’re considering implementing one).

Whoever is stocking the shelves is certainly keen on timing, because we spotted cans of Lost Forty which is set to make its Fayetteville debut on March 1. We also noticed Uncanny American Pale Ale, the newest member of the Mother’s Brewing Company family, which was just released in the Springfield tasting room today.

As for the overall grade, let your own taste buds be the judge.

For photos of the rest of the store, check out our story from earlier today.
