Officials are asking for public comment on the final draft of the Kessler Mountain Trails Master Plan, a document that will help guide existing trails management practices and future trail improvements for the 387-acre area adjacent to the regional park being built in southwest Fayetteville.

A presentation and input session is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 12 inside Room 219 of City Hall, 113 W. Mountain Street.

Development of the plan began in August when a public meeting was held to gather opinions about the project. An online survey collected input in October and November, followed by a second input session in mid-December.

Residents are encouraged to review the final draft of the plan in preparation for the April 12 meeting. The document is available for download on the city’s website (scroll to the bottom and click the image).

Comments can also be submitted to Fayetteville Parks and Recreation by telephone at 479-444-3471 or by mail to Fayetteville Parks and Recreation, 113 W. Mountain Street, Fayetteville, AR 72701. Comments will be accepted until 5 p.m. Friday, April 15.

Once the plan is finalized, it will be presented to the Fayetteville City Council for approval.
