For the third year in a row, Adventure Subaru has presented a five-figure donation to a local charity.

The company on Wednesday presented a check for $56,934 to Feed Communities, a local organization that fights hunger in Fayetteville and the surrounding area. Last year, the company also raised over $50,000 for the organization, bringing the two year total to $106,934.

The donations were raised are part of Subaru’s annual “Share the Love” event, a 43-day initiative which lets each customer who purchases or leases a new Subaru decide which of four national charities would receive a $250 donation from the company. ASPCA, Make-A-Wish, Meals On Wheels Association of America, and National Park Foundation were the national charities selected by Subaru of America this year for their customers to choose from. A few years ago, however, they added an option for dealerships to select their own local charity as an option, and Adventure Subaru selected Feed Fayetteville.

Fayetteville car-buyers once again overwhelmingly chose to support the local group this year as well, resulting in the large donation amount.

In all, Subaru officials said they were able to donate a total of $18.5 million to national and local organizations as part of the program this year. Over the last eight years, SOA has donated nearly $70 million through the “Share The Love” event.
