One of the first, and largest, craft beer festivals in Fayetteville will return for a fifth year next month.

Of course, we’re talking about Fayetteville Foam Fest, set for Saturday, May 7 at the Fayetteville Town Center.

The event, which began in 2012, has grown to become one of the most anticipated events in the area. This year, it will feature over 300 beers from local, regional, and national breweries for attendees to sample.

The event actually kicks off on Friday night with a VIP Brewers Dinner at the Chancellor Hotel in downtown Fayetteville. The evening will include food by chef Mike from 64/94 Bistro paired with small batch brews from New Belgium Brewing, Sam Adams, Boulevard Brewing, Ozark Beer Company, Fossil Cove Brewing and Black Apple Crossing. Local band John Henry’s Friends will provide the evening’s entertainment. Tickets are $55, and include both beer and food.

The main event has moved to the Fayetteville Town Center / Town Center plaza this year due to a scheduling conflict at the Walton Arts Center parking lot where the festival is usually held. Booths will be set up from 5-9 p.m., and attendees are given a 5 oz. tasting cup to try as many craft brews as they can during the four-hour event. A handful of local food trucks will also be on hand to provide a little bit of sustenance for festival goers. This year’s event will include music from local band The Squarshers.

General admission tickets are available for $40. Designated driver tickets are also available for $20, which include unlimited access to hand crafted root beer and sodas.

The first ever Foam Fest Cycling Brewing Tour will debut this year as part of the annual festival. The event features a guided bike ride along the Fayetteville trail system, with stops at five local breweries. Ride tickets are $30 in advance and $35 the day of the event, and the price includes a 12 oz. silicon cup and a beer sample at each brewery.

A portion of the proceeds from this year’s events will benefit JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation), Apple Seeds, Inc., and Ranger’s Pantry pet food bank.
