How about some theatre? TheatreSquared’s new show Murder for Two is drawing raves, including from our own reviewer, Kevin Kinder. The show’s doing so well that they announced this week they’ve extended it through June 5. Performances are scheduled all weekend at Nadine Baum Studios (specific times are below).
One of the best guitar players in the world will be just up the road in Bentonville Friday night. Renowned guitarist Nels Cline, currently a member of Wilco, will perform at the Performance Lab event at Crystal Bridges. Cline will paint while artist Norton Wisdom live to the music. Here’s more info.
Also music-wise, Funk Factory is at George’s, and there’s a rock show at The Lightbulb Club with The Inner Party, Ghost Cities, and ESC.

Blind Joe
Need some new used books? The Friends of Fayetteville Public Library’s Spring Book Sale is Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. in the library’s parking garage.
Did you watch NBC’s The Voice when Barrett Baber was on the show? If so, you might remember Blind Joe, the country artist who competed alongside Barrett on Team Blake. He’s performing at JJ’s Grill Friday night at around 6 p.m.
Local supergroup Flipoff Pirates are also playing a pretty rare show these days at Smoke & Barrel Tavern on Saturday night.

Sunday, May 22
The biggest street party of the year returns Sunday. Of course, we’re talking about Block Street Block Party, the annual celebration of funkiness on Block Avenue. The festival includes several stages of live music, beer gardens, activities for families, a zip line, baby goats, bouncy slides, local artist and crafts, and about a zillion other things. Here’s our guide to all the fun.
How about some roller derby? NWA Roller Derby will host a double header bout at Starlight Skatium beginning at 5 p.m. Here’s more info.
