Fayetteville police are investigating reports of a “suspicious package” in the Rolling Hills Drive area Thursday evening.
Officers have closed a portion of Rolling Hills to traffic between Sheryl Avenue and Oaks Manor Drive.
We arrived on the scene at about 5:30 p.m. and an officer told us police weren’t overly concerned with the report, but were taking standard precautions by re-routing traffic.
We’ll update this story as more information becomes available.
Update: Shortly after we left the scene, we received several reports that the Bentonville Bomb Squad had arrived and was in the parking lot at Hancock Fabrics.
Update: The road is now clear and officers are no longer on the scene.
