Wanna see a classic Shakespeare in one of Fayetteville’s most picturesque city parks?

You’ll have several chances beginning next week, when local troupe The Crude Mechanicals come together once again for a series of performances at Gulley Park July 8-12.

This time, the troupe will perform the bard’s classic comedy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

It’s the third season of performances for the Crude Mechanicals. The company was formed in 2014 by a group of current students and recent theatre graduates who have scattered around the country for college, but who enjoy performing in their spare time. The players have also performed Romeo and Juliet, The Tempest, Twelfth Night, and Macbeth in recent years.

Their performances are free and family friendly, and audience members are encouraged to bring their own picnics and refreshments. Donations are welcome, however, and 50% of the proceeds from this round of shows will be donated to Planting Peace’s CrowdRise campaign based in Orlando and the Northwest Arkansas Center for Equality.

Performances of A Midsummer Nights Dream will take place every evening at 7:30 p.m. from July 8-12 at the Gazebo inside the park. The show runs about 90 minutes.
