UA student gallery to host art reception on Fayetteville square during First Thursday

sUgAR, the University of Arkansas student off-campus art gallery, will host a closing reception for Just North: A Presentation of Works from MSU from 5:30-8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 4 inside the gallery at 1 E. Center Street on the east side of the Fayetteville square.

The show, which began in early June, includes work from Missouri State University’s Art + Design Department’s MFA program in Visual Studies. The program, which places an emphasis on individual research, encourages students to explore contemporary, traditional, and interdisciplinary approaches and media.

The reception takes place during the city’s First Thursday celebration on the downtown square, which includes an outdoor art walk, live music, a local beer garden, and various coinciding events at businesses in the downtown area.
