The new Faulkner Performing Arts Center at the University of Arkansas opened last year, and officials this week announced their “FPAC Presents” series of shows for the upcoming 2016-17 season.

The series includes performances by local pianist Jonathan Story with singer Kara Story on Sept. 9, a holiday screening of the Will Ferrell film, Elf, on Dec. 10, and a performance by the St. Lawrence String Quartet on Thursday, March 16.

Husband and wife duo Jonathan and Kara Story will perform an evening of classical and jazz music, covering “everything from Brahms to Nat King Cole.”

The screening of Elf on the will double as a food drive benefitting the Full Circle Food Pantry, and attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable canned food item to the show.

Finally, the St. Lawrence St. Quartet will perform their “Haydn Discovery” show, featuring an unpacking of Franz Josef Haydn’s piece, The Joke, from various perspectives, followed by a performance of the work in its entirety.
