Unwed Sailor returns to Fayetteville Sept. 23

Well known (mostly) instrumental band Unwed Sailor is touring again, and they’ll make a stop in Fayetteville later this month.

The band, fronted by Tulsa, OK native Johnathon Ford, will be in town for a show at Nomad’s Music Lounge on Friday, Sept. 23.

Unwed Sailor got its start in Seattle, and has included some pretty high profile members over the years, including Dave Bazan (Pedro the Lion), and Casey Wescott (Fleet Foxes). They’ve also evolved quite a bit over time, with several new band members coming and going over the years to create an ever-changing sound that’s difficult to pin down to a specific genre.

The band has played Fayetteville several times over the years, although I can’t remember specifically when they were in town last. It’s been a while.

Tickets to the show next week are $7 at the door. Doors open at 8 p.m., and locals Nite Pup and Prahnas will open the show.
