UA Alumni Association to host Commodores concert Thursday

The Arkansas Alumni Association will kick off a membership drive this week with a concert by legendary funk group, The Commodores.

The band, best known for hits like Brick House, Easy, and Three Times a Lady will perform in the Baum Stadium Parkin Lot at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 15. Gates for the show open at 6 p.m.

Local singer Trey O’Dell, a UA student who competed in season 10 of NBC’s The Voice, will open the show. O’Dell also wrote an original song for the Alumni Association, and will perform it live for the first time Thursday night.

The show is free for current UA students, faculty, staff, and UA Alumni who register for tickets at arkansasalumni.org. The general public may also register for tickets on the Arkansas Alumni site, and tickets for those individuals will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Ticket pick up is set for Sept. 13 and 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Arkansas Union Connections Lounge and Sept. 14 from 3-5 p.m. and Sept. 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Janelle Y. Hembree Alumni House.

For those who can’t make it to campus, will call will be open at 6 p.m. on Sept. 15 at the East Baum Stadium Parking Lot.
