Police investigate armed robbery at Fayetteville restaurant

Police are investigating a report of an armed robbery at 10 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25 at Formosa Chinese Restaurant in Fayetteville.

The incident occurred when employees who were leaving the building after closing the restaurant were confronted in the parking lot by two suspects, according to a news release. Police said the suspects were dressed in all black clothing, and one of the suspects was armed with a handgun.

According to the report, one of the employees resisted the robbery which caused the armed suspect to hit the employee in the face with the gun. Police said the handgun was discharged, but the victim was not injured by the bullet.

The suspects then fled into the wooded area east of the restaurant with one of the employee’s bags.

Once on the scene, police established a perimeter and a K9 was called to the scene, however, the suspects were not located.
