Second annual Run for the Parks race set for Nov. 20

Fayetteville Parks and Recreation will host the 2016 Run for the Parks racing event on Sunday, Nov. 20.

The event is part of the Fayetteville Race Series, which includes several annual races that vary between running, cycling, and multisport activities.

Run for the Parks features three distance options (8.5 miles, 4.5 miles, and 2.5 miles) that each begin in a different park along the Razorback Greenway and finish at Walker Park in south Fayetteville.

Registration includes race timing, a supported course, a long sleeve t-shirt, and post-race pancakes.

Awards will be given to the overall male and overall female finishers of each distance and to the overall male and female finishers of each age group for each distance.

Shuttles will be available before the race to take runners from Walker Park to the park in which their race starts. Starting times, locations, and registration prices for each race are as follows:

8.5 mile race: 8 a.m. / Lake Fayetteville / $35
4.5 mile race: 8:30 a.m. / Gordon Long Park / $25
2.5 mile race: 9 a.m. / Wilson Park / $25

(Fees increase by $10 on Nov. 1)
