15th semi-annual Insect Festival of Arkansas set for Oct. 18 in Fayetteville

The University of Arkansas College of Agricultural, Food and Life Science’s Department of Entomology will host the 15th semi-annual Insect Festival of Arkansas from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, 0ct. 18 at the Pauline Whitaker Animal Science Center, 1335 W. Knapp Drive.

The festitval includes an insect and arthropod zoo, displays of insects from the state arthropod museum, games and crafts for children, a cotton patch, beekeeping, cockroach races, insect actors, and music.

There will also be an insect theater troupe, with performances at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.

Several local school groups will be in attendance throughout the day, but the event is free and open to the public.
