Closing reception for ‘Spooky ol’ South’ set for Thursday at DZNR Gallery

If you missed the opening reception for Spooky ol’ South art show at the new DZNR Gallery last month, your last chance to check it out is coming up.

A closing reception for the show is set for 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3.

The group show features artists from Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi exhibiting work exploring Southern Gothic themes of voodoo, rural urban myths, haunted swamps, and other weirdness.

Artists include Adam Posnak (AR), Neal Harrington (AR), Dennis Sipiorski (LA), Mike Pennekamp (AR), Sean StarWars (MS), David Scott Smith (AR), and Ryan Trusell (TX).

The closing reception will feature live music at 8 p.m. by Cadillac Grainers, a honky-tonk string band based in Santa Cruz, California.

Beer and wine will be available with a suggested donation for adults 21 and over.

The show is curated by Fayetteville ceramics artist Bryce Brisco.
