Fayetteville residents and visitors can take advantage of two free parking events scheduled this week in the Dickson Street Entertainment District.

Parking fees will be waived in the Spring Street Parking Deck after 5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17. Paid parking in the deck will be reinstated at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18.

Free parking will also be available all day Saturday, Nov. 19, at the deck and in the West Avenue parking lot to coincide with the Walton Arts Center’s grand re-opening event. Paid parking will be reinstated in both locations at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 20.

From a news release:

These free parking events are great opportunities to highlight some of the parking resources available to the public as the community celebrates and explores the newly renovated Walton Arts Center.

The Walton Arts Center’s $23 million renovation and expansion of the Fayetteville facility is now complete, and a celebration is scheduled for 9:50 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19.

The event will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by an open house from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. with music, food, and interactive activities for children.

A second event intended for audiences 14 and older is set for 6 p.m. which will also include music and performances in a variety of genres.
