Red Flag fire warning issued in Washington County

Due to extreme dry conditions, Washington County Fire Marshal Dennis Ledbetter has issued a county-wide Red Flag Fire Warning effective immediately.

Because of the warning, outdoor burning (grilling is not considered outdoor burning) is strongly discouraged.

From the county:

Definition of high fire threat (Red Flag):
Fires will start and spread rapidly. Every fire has the potential to become large, and will be difficult to control. Expect extreme and erratic fire behavior. Outside burning during this period should be avoided if at all possible.
