Anyone headed to Dickson Street or the downtown Fayetteville area will not have to pay for parking on Thanksgiving Day this year.

Fayetteville Mayor Lioneld Jordan has declared Thursday, Nov. 24 a free parking day for both the Dickson Street Entertainment District and the Downtown Business District, according to a news release.

Paid parking in both districts will be reinstated at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25.

Jordan said drivers should be mindful of spaces reserved for Lights of the Ozarks vendors on the Fayetteville square or in marked residential parking spaces.
