Registration is now open for the 2017 Frozen Toes 15K trail run, set for Saturday, Jan. 14 at Kessler Mountain in southwest Fayetteville.

The event is part of the Fayetteville Race Series, and is geared toward runners looking to transition from a 5K or 10K distance to a longer trail race.

“The single-track trails of Kessler Mountain are technical in some areas, but the views are worth it,” said Tiffany Gaulke, the city’s recreation program manager.

The cold weather run will be followed by awards, prizes, and hot soup.

Event Details
The trail run starts and finishes at Kessler Mountain Regional Park, 2600 W. Judge Cummings Road. The course includes an aid station and will be marked in common trail run fashion. Race packets can be picked up between 4-7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 13 at Academy Sports, 3864 N. Steele Blvd., or on race day at the park’s concession building prior to the race. Runners should arrive between 7:45-8:45 a.m. to check in. The race begins at 9 a.m.

Registration is $35 and includes race timing, a supported course, custom logo socks, and post-race soup. Online registration is currently open and available here.
