Fayetteville offers free parking for holidays

Drivers can take advantage of two free parking days in the Dickson Street and downtown areas during the holiday season.

Municipal parking will be free on Christmas Day (Dec. 25) and New Year’s Day (Jan. 1) throughout the city’s Dickson Street Entertainment District and the Downtown Square Business District.

Drivers should not park in marked residential parking spaces nor in Square parking spaces reserved for Lights of the Ozarks or First Night vendors.

Parking rules and regulations will be reinstated on Monday, Dec. 26 and continue through Saturday, Dec, 31.

Dickson Street Entertainment District municipal parking is free before 2 p.m. daily and uses a pay-by-space system from 2 p.m. to 2 a.m., seven days a week. Payment can be made using the paybyphone system/app or at any of the kiosks located throughout the area, including kiosks located in the Spring Street Parking Deck.

Downtown Square Business District municipal parking is enforced 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday; parking is free on evenings and during weekends. Free municipal parking is available every day at the 207 E. Center Street parking lots (located on the east side of College Avenue, behind the historic Washington County Courthouse).
