FLYER GUIDE: New Year’s Eve events in and around Fayetteville

It’s about time to close the books on 2016, y’all.

A new year is upon us, and it’s time to scrub off all that old-year grime, and start anew in 2017.

Time for new resolutions. It’s time to make new stories, and have new experiences.

Here are several options for ways to celebrate New Year’s Eve in and around Fayetteville this year. We’ll add to this list between now and the big night, so feel free to let us know what we’ve missed in the comments.

Backspace

Backspace is hosting a New Year’s Eve party this year with performances by local bands Piss Shivers, The Phlegms, the Wirms, and Little Rock band, Mindsweeper.

C4 Lounge

C4 Lounge will host a NYE17 Masquerade Party featuring music by DJ Sno White, a balloon drop, cash prizes, and a champagne toast.

Club Lush

Club Lush (inside Fresco restaurant) will ring in the new year with performances by DJs m.bolez and rapper Shong Lee & NorthwestAR. The event will also include cash prizes and balloon drop at midnight. Admission is $10 at the door.

Crystal Bridges

Crystal Bridges has a couple different New Year’s Eve options this year.

They’re hosting a Supper Club event at 8:30 p.m. in the great hall, featuring a seated multi-course meal paired with cocktails and wine, and live music by Grammy nominated pianist/vocalist Judy Carmichael, Block Street Hot Club, and other performers. This event is $225 per person, or $200 for members.

The second event is a “museum dance party” in Eleven restaurant and spilling into the gallery spaces featuring live music by Rozenbridge, Nimbus Circus, ArkansasStaged, Russ Tall Chief, Melody Pond, and Wini Rubi. Admission is $60 ($55 for members), and includes appetizers and a glass of champagne at midnight.

Fayetteville Square

The largest party in town is happening on the Fayetteville square with Last Night Fayetteville.

Main stage headliners will kick off at 7 p.m. at the Fayetteville Town Center. The lineup includes performances from Handmade Moments, Arkansauce, The Silvershakers, and Fractal Sky. There are several other stages of entertainment as well, featuring comedy, folk music, theatre, kid-friendly entertainment, and other performances. There’s also the annual Hog Drop (similar to the ball drop in Times Square) featuring a 8.5-foot-long hog sculpture at midnight, and a fireworks finale. General admission tickets are $30.

George’s Majestic Lounge

George’s Majestic Lounge turns 90 years old this year, and they’re celebrating with a big New Year’s Eve party featuring live music by Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe and Henry + The Invisibles. Tickets are $20, on sale now at George’s ticketing site.

Greenhouse Grille

Greenhouse Grille will serve a special menu all day on New Year’s Eve. Reservations are strongly recommended.

Grub’s

Grub’s is planning a huge New Year’s Eve bash with music by DJ Derrick, $2 shot specials, $15 bottles of champagne (w/ a free toast at midnight), and more. There’s no cover.

JJ’s Grill – Steamboat Drive

Local band Fetz Folly will perform at JJ’s Steamboat Drive location for New Year’s Eve. There’s no cover.

JJ’s Grill – Dickson Street

JJ’s Grill on Dickson Street will ring in the new year with locals The Odds. Admission is zero dollars.

Maxine’s Tap Room

Maxine’s will ring in the new year with DJ Clunk & Friends on the turntables iPad, a dance party with a light-up dance floor, and a champagne toast at midnight. There’s no cover.

On the Mark

On the Mark Sports Bar will host a casino night for New Year’s Eve this year.

Ryleigh’s

Local band Vintage Pistol will host a New Year’s Eve party at Ryleigh’s this year. It’s their second year to do so. Joining themt his year is SPACE4LEASE, a four-piece psychedelic rock group from Oklahoma City. Tickets are $5 in advance, and $8 the day of the show.

Smoke & Barrel

Local DJ and thrower-of-parties Beat Bachs will perform at Smoke & Barrel Tavern for New Year’s Eve this year.

Springdale Holiday Inn

Some local radio stations are hosting a party at the Springdale Holiday Inn. The event will include live music by Ultra Suede, a champagne toast at midnight, and the hotel will also have sleeping room specials for those who have a little too much fun.

Starlight Skatium

Starlight Skatium will host an all night skate event for New Year’s eve this year. Admission for the all night event is $25, and includes New Year’s hats and party favors, and a balloon drop at midnight. More info about the event is available here.

Teatro Scarpino

Teatro Scarpino will host a “Hollywood on the Hill” New Years’ Eve dance party featuring DJs D. Sewell, Ty Walker, and J. Red Spinning. There will be a photo booth, and a balloon drop is planned at midnight. Admission is $10 at the door.

Whiskey 101

Whiskey 101, formerly The Electric Cowboy, is planning a New Year’s Eve party including a giveaway of $2017 in “cash and prizes,” a balloon drop, and champagne toast at midnight.
