Weekend Flyer: Escape Tones & The Rubberbands, Mothership and more

How about a little Shakespeare on a snowy day? Local troupe the Crude Mechanicals will perform The Bard’s classic tragedy King Lear a few times this weekend at Mount Sequoyah’s Clapp Auditorium. The shows begin at 7:30 p.m., and are free to attend. Here’s more info about the performances.

There’s a three band bill at George’s Friday night with jazz fusion trio Escape Tones & The Rubberbands, locals Fuggins Wheat Band, and OKC band Space4Lease.

It’s freezing out there, but that doesn’t mean you can’t experience some of the comforts of the Fayetteville Farmers’ Market these cold winter months. The market is open through the winter these days, just next door to Ozark Natural Foods. They open Saturday at

Oklahoma band Henna Roso is more than just an ensemble of musicians to dance away the evening to. The group also does a food drive at every place they perform, and donates the food to local food pantries. They’ll be doing exactly that at Smoke & Barrel Tavern on Saturday night. Bring a canned good or or two if you head out.
