It’s officially summer concert announcement season.

The Walmart AMP has been rolling them out with regularity lately, and the latest came on Monday with the news that Tedeschi Trucks Band will headline a show this summer along with friends and collaborators The Wood Brothers and Hot Tuna on Tuesday, July 25.

Tedeschi Trucks Band is a 12-piece band led by husband and wife duo Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi. The band formed in 2010, and since then averages about 200 shows a year on the road. Their last three albums have all charted in the top 15 of the Billboard 200, and their 2016 release Let Me Get By was called “one of the great records of the year” by the Associated Press.

The Wood Brothers have become regulars in Fayetteville in recent years, headlining shows at George’s, as well as the Fayetteville Roots Festival, and last year’s Homegrown Music Festival on the Mulberry Mountain. In addition to their show at the AMP with Tedeschi Trucks band this year, they’re also set to be one of the headliners of the 2017 Fayetteville Roots Festival.

The Wood Brothers and Tedeschi Trucks Band have worked together quite a bit over the years. Oliver Wood from the band co-wrote the track Ball and Chain from Tedeschi Trucks Band’s 2011 album Revelator, and Tedeschi and Trucks both make a guest appearance on the Wood Brothers 2015 album, Paradise.

Hot Tuna, a well-loved act in their own right, is also on the bill. The band features Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady, former members of Jefferson Airplane.

Tickets to the show start at $31, and go on sale at noon on Friday, Jan. 27. To purchase, call the box office at the Walton Arts center at 479-443-5600, or visit amptickets.com.
