It’s baseball season! The Diamond Hogs will kick off their 2017 season with a series versus Miami (Ohio) this weekend at Baum Stadium. The first game is Friday afternoon at 3 p.m.

The Circus is in town as well. Well, sorta. Cirque troupe Circus Oz is at the Walton Arts Center, with performances scheduled throughout the weekend. Here’s the schedule.

Little Rock songwriter Adam Faucett and his band, The Tall Grass, will be back in town for the first time in a while at Smoke & Barrel Saturday night. Admission is $5 at the door.

There’s also a big show at George’s with National Park Radio, Lost John, and the Trumann Rail Boys.

Saturday, Feb. 18

If you’re hungry around lunch time on Saturday, you should head to the Washington County Fairgrounds for the second annual Gumbo Cookoff, benefitting JDRF. The event will also include live music by local jazz band, Second Line Strings, and funky-blues band, Mudhawk. Here’s more info.

The Razorback basketball team has a big game on Saturday night as they take on Ole Miss at Bud Walton Arena. Tipoff is at 5 p.m.

Music-wise, George’s as a four band bill on Saturday night with locals Randall Shreve, Molten Mama, Youth Pastor, and Sabrina Lynn Deets from Springfield, Missouri.
