Want to experience what it’s like to be a pro cyclist for a day?

The next installment of the Joe Martin Gran Fondo is scheduled for Saturday, April 1 as part of the 2017 Joe Martin Stage Race.

The annual series of events, which includes multi-stage races for both professional and amateur cyclists, has gained in popularity through the years and now attracts participants from all 50 states and 27 countries.

Aside from the races, the event also offers a gran fondo-style ride along the same route as the professional race course. The event is for cyclists who are interested in riding, but not competing. The gran fondo consists of three routes to choose from – a 30-mile, 45-mile and 114-mile course.

While the gran fondo isn’t a competition, riders will receive a bib number to wear and a chip timer to record their finishing time.

The ride includes aid stations along the course, a finisher prize, free drawings for prizes and a goody bag with gifts.

Participants can enjoy an after-party with food and beverages from local businesses, and can witness some of the top professional riders finishing later that day.

Cost is $50-80 depending on the course, with prices increasing on March 27 (note: Ozark Cycling Adventures has some nice discount codes). Registration is available at joemartingranfondo.com. Riders must pre-register as there is no registration available on the day of the event.
