Songwriter David Dondero, who NPR called “one of the 10 best living songwirters,” is in town for a show at the Heartbreak House (formerly the Good Folk House) on Block Avenue. Local songwriter Ryan Pickop will open the show. Here’s more info.

The 12th Annual Chilirhea chili cook off is taking place Saturday at the Fayetteville Town Center. The event raises tens of thousands of dollars for Alzheimers research every year.

Also on Saturday, the annual Fat Saturday Parade of Fools will make its way from the square, down Block Avenue, and onto Dickson Street beginning at 2 p.m. There will be floats.

Last Saturday Fayetteville, the monthly variety show featuring music, comedy, storytelling, and more, is back at their new home at the American Legion Post this week. Entertainment includes Youth Pastor, Caleb Martin, Stetson Banks, and Pride of the Thicket. Here’s more.
