Local supergroup of pickers “Gentlemen of a Certain Age” will perform together for the first time Friday night at the old Ozark Mountain Smokehouse (Fayettechill HQ). It’s a Pickin’ Post presents show. Tickets are $15. Here’s more info.

Artist’s Laboratory Theatre will host a “listing party” discussion at their home in South Fayetteville about the Border Cantos: Sight and Sound Explorations from the Mexican-American Border exhibit now on display at Crystal Bridges. Refreshments and a donation bar will be available. Here’s more.

Music-wise, local country band Backroad Anthem is back in town for a show at George’s (read our profile from earlier this week), and Randall Shreve will perform at the new Stage 18 venue just off the square.

There’s plenty more below. Click around down there for more info.

The final home basketball game of the year is Saturday at Bud Walton Arena. The Hogs will take on Georgia, with hopes of punching their ticket to the NCAA tournament this year. It’s senior night, and the Hogs will be saying goodbye to Moses Kingsley, Dusty Hannahs, and Manuale Watkins after some pretty great careers.

The symphony is in town again. SoNA will perform their Masterworks II concert at Walton Arts Center Saturday night, including a performance of the Beethoven’s masterpiece 5th symphony.

Also in music, local folk heroes Smokey & The Mirror will perform at Stage 18, Rozenbridge is at JJ’s, and country troubadour Cody Johnson will play at George’s.

There’s more below.
