‘A Night on the Townes’ tribute planned Tuesday at Maxine’s

Legendary songwriter Townes Van Zandt may be gone, but he is anything but forgotten.

The singer passed away in 1997, but his music will come to life at Maxine’s Tap Room on Tuesday, March 7 when an all-star group of local musicians pay tribute in honor of what would have been Van Zandt’s 73rd birthday.

The event, called “A Night on the Townes,” will feature performances by Jeff Kearney, Dana Idlet & Noah Richmond, Meredith Kimbrough and Eric Witthans, Adam Cox and Candice Houston, Jamie Lou and Garrett Brolund, Ryan Pickop, and Bernice and Bryan Hembree.

The show starts at 7 p.m., and there’s no cover.
