A Fayetteville chef will make his national television debut next month.

Brent Hale, the chef behind local food truck Big Sexy Food, is set to appear on Guy Fieri’s Food Network show, Guy’s Grocery Games.

Hale began his career in Fort Worth, Texas where he worked as a personal chef and created his first catering company. He later moved to Northwest Arkansas, and opened his food truck in Fayetteville’s Yacht Club last summer.

He said he received an email from producers about the show recently, and decided to apply. Soon, he was flying to Santa Rosa, California for the taping.

For those who aren’t familiar with Guy’s Grocery Games, the show features chefs competing in a variety of wacky challenges as they shop and create their own dishes to be judged by a panel of celebrity chefs.

The episode featuring Hale will air on Sunday, April 30 at 6 p.m. A local watch party is planned that evening at Foghorn’s near Baum Stadium (1545 W. 15th St.).
