City officials this week will host an open house event to show off the two recently completed offices inside the Spring Street Parking Deck in Fayetteville.

The offices will open from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 16 at the deck on the northwest corner of Spring Street and School Avenue behind the Walton Arts Center. Anyone is welcome to attend, mingle with city staff, and view educational displays.

The city’s Parking Management Department was recently moved to the deck offices. During the open house, visitors can view preliminary recommendations from the yet-to-be-completed Fayetteville Mobility plan – including data analysis, parking signage and regulations. Visitors can also learn about the recently revised Event Permits Application Process associated with planning events in Fayetteville.

Staff for the city’s Sustainability Department also relocated their offices into the deck facility early this year. Visitors can tour and learn about the “green” features of the parking deck and office – including the rainwater irrigation system, native landscaping to attract Monarch butterflies and pollinators, office furniture constructed of recycled/reused materials, and acoustic wall panels made from mushroom compost.

From the city:

Results of the recently completed Community Perceptions Survey will be on display. The findings give a unique look into residents’ perceptions of life in Fayetteville including views on public safety, neighborhood cohesion, and funding priorities. Survey results and data are available on the city’s website here.

Free parking is available until 6 p.m. for open house visitors in the deck.
