TheatreSquared’s Intimate Apparel

TheatreSquared’s new show Intimate Apparel opened this week, and continues with several performances scheduled this weekend at Nadine Baum Studios. The Chicago Tribute called the play “a justly acclaimed, beautifully written, and intensely personal play,” and it’s the winner of five national awards for best play. Here’s a schedule and ticket info.

Music wise, there’s a big show at George’s with red dirt band and frequent Fayetteville visitors, Jason Boland & The Stragglers.

There’s plenty more below.

Shovel’s & Rope

If you’re thirsty on Saturday, you could check out the big homebrew throwdown we wrote about earlier this week. It starts at 7 p.m. at Core Public House off Emma Street in downtown Springdale. Try some of the best local homewbrews available, and vote for your favorite in a people’s choice-style competition.

Music-wise, the big show of the night is at George’s Majestic Lounge where South Carolina Americana duo Shovels & Rope are set to perform. The band has played a couple times in town, including at last year’s Fayetteville Roots Festival.

Also in music (and other stuff), the monthly variety show Last Saturday returns to the American Legion with performances by music group The Lark & The Loon, long-form improv group Rodeo Book Club, and others.

Local comedy festival Huge Lightning will be raising funds to help pay for their festival at Stage 18. There will be performances by Haze Maze (music), Twoskers (improv), and an art auction featuring pieces by Brandon Bullette and Julia M. Trupp. Here’s more info.

Lastly, there’s a show at Artist Laboratory Theatre featuring performances by Rozenbridge, Sophia Odelia Bauer, and Jacob Campbell. Here’s more info.
