It was 1987. Hair was big and shoulder pads bigger. Michael Jackson was at the top of his game and Aretha Franklin finally got the respect she deserved by being the first woman to be inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.

World population hit 5 billion people, the New York Giants won the Super Bowl, we lost the creative genius Andy Warhol but astronomers at University of California gained first sight of the birth of a galaxy.

Meantime, in Fayetteville another important birth was taking place. In June, The Bank of Fayetteville opened its doors for business. A bank rooted in traditional values and relationships, and the belief that all energy should be expended towards the pursuit of positive outcomes, was the philosophy of founder John Lewis and other community-centric investors.

While much has changed over the last three decades, The Bank of Fayetteville’s dedication to community remains the same. Our mission stands tall and clear… providing a financial institution that improves the well-being and promotes the success of our employees and customers by treating all with dignity, respect and compassion.

So it seems only fitting that The Bank of Fayetteville would celebrate its 30 year anniversary by honoring various non-profits serving our community needs.

This month we salute TheatreSquared, which infuses our community with creative and passion theatrical performances.

We thank these champions of generosity for all they do to make Northwest Arkansas a great place to live.
