It looks like turning Dickson Street into a 1,000-foot-long slip-and-slide is going to become an annual tradition in Fayetteville.

The folks from local non-profit Soldier On Service Dogs announced last month plans to bring the event back to town on Sunday, Aug. 27.

In addition to the slide, the event is a mini-street festival with local vendors and non-profits set up with tents in the area showcasing their services.

Proceeds from the event benefit Soldier On Service Dogs, an organization that provides trained service dogs to veterans in Northwest Arkansas.

Tickets to the 2017 event are $25 for 3 slides, or $40 for unlimited slides down the street. To purchase, visit dicksonstreetslide.com.

The organization is currently seeking volunteers. Those interested in getting involved can sign up here.
