A fresh take on a classic French farce opens in Fayetteville this week.

TheatreSquared has adapted Mark Shanahan’s The Dingdong with a new script, and the company officially debuted their version of the classic tale on Wednesday, May 10.

“The Dingdong walks a theatrical tightrope—balancing slapstick, wordplay, and beaucoup theatrical tricks with genuine humanity and romance,” said T2 artistic director Robert Ford of the new show. “And of course, there are delightful surprises behind every closed door.”

The cast for The Dingdong includes Greg Jackson (A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder), Jordan Haynes (Noises Off, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare), Rebecca Rivas (Reason’s to Be Pretty), Bruce Warren (Peter and the Starcatcher, Around the World in 80 Days) and Shannon Leigh Webber (4,000 Miles.) Fayetteville resident Morgan Hicks directs.

Performances are scheduled through June 4, and tickets range from $15-45.
