Weekend Flyer: Square to Square, Trail Mix, Foam Fest and more

Cast of TheatreSquared’s The Ding Dong

It’s one of the busiest weekends of the year in Fayetteville.

University of Arkansas Graduation is on Saturday, and there are a ton of big events taking place all over the region to take advantage of all the extra folks who will be in town for the event.

One of the signature events of Walton Arts Center’s annual Artosphere Festival is Friday night at Crystal Bridges. The Artosphere Festival Orchestra will perform a concert entitled Mozart in the Museum in the great hall.

Talented local artist Brandon Bullette will open a new show at Fossil Cove Friday night. He’ll also be on hand live-painting some new work, and the brewery’s new Rye IPA will be released.

Sports-wise, the Razorbacks will play their final scheduled home series of the year versus Vanderbilt this weekend at Baum Stadium. The first pitch Friday night is scheduled for 6 p.m.

TheatreSquared debuts a new show this week as well. Their take on the classic French farce, The Dingdong, opened Wednesday, and there are several performances scheduled this weekend. A full schedule and ticket info are on their website.

Walton Arts Center’s Artosphere Trail Mix concerts are scheduled for Saturday

There’s a big group bike ride happening Saturday morning. The annual Square to Square ride starts at 8 p.m. on the Fayetteville square, and ends in Bentonville this time. Here’s more info.

Along the trail, you could check out some music on Saturday as well. The Artosphere Trail Mix concert series is happening on Saturday, where you could see Rozenbridge at Lake Fayetteville, Melody Pond at the Mercy Trailhead in Rogers, and several other musicians. Here’s a link to the full lineup.

How about a beer festival? The sixth annual Fayetteville Foam Fest is taking place on the Fayetteville square on Saturday as well. There will be beer from more than 50 breweries, including most of the locals, available at the event. Here’s more info.

The AMP has a big show on Saturday night with rapper Travis Scott. Last we heard, there were still tickets available.

Just up the road in Springdale, Little Craft Show makes their return after about a year hiatus with their spring show in the downtown area. For those who aren’t familiar, it’s an arts and craft show featuring some of the best makers from the region.
