TheatreSquared’s new comedy The Dingdong is still playing at Nadine Baum Studios this weekend, and folks have been raving about it. Here’s our review of the show.
A couple of Fayetteville regulars will be back on stage for the first time in a while this weekend. Shawn James is back in town for a show at George’s Friday night, and the boys from Charliehorse are back together at Kingfish.
Also in music, there’s a cool Artosphere show scheduled at Botanical Garden of the Ozarks with Third Coast Percussion.
Downtown, locals the Vine Brothers and Melody Pond will perform together at Stage 18.

Artosphere Festival Orchestra / Courtesy
When’s the last time you attended a Hootenanny? You’ll get a chance this weekend as Artist’s Laboratory Theatre will be hosting one at Cheadle Farms (next door to Ozark Natural Foods). It’s a big fundraiser for the company, and proceeds help support their programming efforts. Here’s more info.
Artosphere is coming to a close, and the extremely talented Artosphere Festival Orchestra will perform their festival finale concert at Walton Arts Center Saturday night.
In comedy, local improv troupe Phunbags will be back in action with a show at Stage 18 on Saturday as well. After the show, there’s a comedy fundraiser for Lauren Embree, one of the owners of Stage 18 who was recently injured in a fall. The show features live comedy from the jokesters at Comedians NWA. Here’s more info.

The seventh annual Block Street Block Party is taking over the street, featuring over 40 bands on six stages, 150 local arts, crafts, business, and no-profit booths, a dunk tank, bouncy castles, local beer, food trucks, and tons of other activities.
