Fayetteville’s favorite Shakespeare players will be back in the park with a new show this summer.

The Crude Mechanicals, a group of local theatre students and recent graduates who enjoy performing in their spare time, are back in town to perform The Bard’s classic comedy, Love’s Labour Lost this month.

The troupe will perform the play on June 6, 7, 8, and 11 at the gazebo at Gulley Park. All performances begin at 7:30 p.m.

The comedy is one of Shakespeare’s lesser known, and earliest works. It follows The King of Navarre and his friends who take an oath of abstinence from women for three years. Soon after, the Princess of France and her ladies-in-waiting arrive, pushing the men to a true test of their vows.

Performances by The Crude Mechanicals are free and family friendly, and audience members are encouraged to bring their own picnics and refreshments. Donations are welcome, however.
