Uniquely Crafted Local Bites & Brews event to return June 24

A new event highlighting the local food and beer scene and raising money for a good cause will return for a second year in 2017.

Uniquely Crafted – Local Bites & Brews, the event created last year to benefit the Down Syndrome Connection of Northwest Arkansas, is set for 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 24 at Botanical Garden of the Ozarks.

The event will feature craft beers from local breweries, food from local food trucks, and craft cocktails by Pink House Alchemy, as well as several fun events.

Among them, the brew mile that debuted last year will be back again. The event features a chip-timed one mile race with contestants stopping every quarter mile to drink a local craft beer. A relay has been added this year, as well, so you can split the running and drinking with a friend. There’s also a low-key cocktail quarter mile race.

Registration for the brew mile race (or any of the other race events) plus access to the beer/cocktail/food truck garden is $70 (and includes a t-shirt), beer/cocktail garden tickets are $40, and designated driver tickets are available for $10. Proceeds from the event benefit the Down Syndrome Connection
