The Fayetteville Parks and Recreation Department will offer free fishing at Lake Fayetteville and Lake Sequoyah on June 10-11.
The promotion coincides with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s free fishing weekend and is one of two annual free fishing weekends offered in Fayetteville to promote and encourage use of the two lakes. Daily fishing/use fees are waived on these two days but boating permits are still required.
The lakes are open to the general public throughout the year from sunrise to sunset. Each lake is closed on Thanksgiving Day and from Dec. 24 through Jan. 14. Lake Fayetteville is located at 1330 E. Lake Fayetteville Road, and Lake Sequoyah is at 6608 E. Lake Sequoyah Drive.
Daily and/or annual fishing and boating permits can be purchased at the marina offices during business hours.
Permit fees:
Annual boating and fishing (65 and older and veterans) – $40
Annual boating and fishing (16-64) – $50
Daily boating and fishing (65 and older and veterans) – $5
Daily boating and fishing (16-64) – $6
Annual fishing/use (65 and older and veterans) – $20
Annual fishing/use (16-64) – $30
Daily fishing/use (65 and older and veterans) – $2
Daily fishing/use (16-64) – $3
Daily fishing/use (under 16 with permitted adult) Free
Daily non-motorized boating – $3
Annual non-motorized boating – $20
Boat stalls are available to rent at Lake Fayetteville on an annual basis.
Boat stall fees:
City of Fayetteville resident – $250
Non-City of Fayetteville resident – $325
