There’s still time to register for the 2017 Ladies DU Fayetteville, the city’s women-only duathlon.

This year’s race takes place from 8-11 a.m. Sunday, June 11 at Lake Fayetteville, and is open to women of all ages.

City officials are asking residents to stay off the Lake Fayetteville paved trail during race times, as the trail will be used as the bicycle course portion of the race.

The last day to register (cash or check only) is Saturday, June 10, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Apple Blossom Brewing Company. Registration is not available the day of the race.

The run-ride-run race includes two miles of running followed by an 11-mile bicycle ride and then another two-mile run on the paved trails around the lake. Participants can register individually or as a two-person relay team where one woman completes the running portions of the race and another woman completes the bicycling portion.

The top three overall finishers (individual and relay divisions) will receive awards, along with the top three age group finishers in the individual division. Post-race festivities include massage chairs, healthy snacks, and raffle prize drawings.

The event is part of the Fayetteville Race Series, a lineup of several annual events that vary between running, cycling, and multisport activities. For information, contact Tiffany Gaulke at 479-444-3463.
