NWA Pride Parade / Staff photo

The 11th annual NWA Pride Parade will make its way down Dickson Street on Saturday. Staging begins at 9 a.m., and the parade will start at 11 a.m. Afterwards, a festival is planned on the Fayetteville square featuring vendor booths, a beer garden, a dance party, community speakers, and more. Here’s more info.

A new book on the history of the Fayetteville square is out, and the authors will be signing copies and discussing their work at 1 p.m. at Nightbird Books on Saturday. It’s called The Square Book, and covers the period between 1828 and 2016. Here’s more.

There’s a celebration of local beer, food trucks, and fundraiser for Down Syndrome Connection of NWA at the Botanical Garden of Arkansas. In addition to the food and drink, the event also features a “beer mile,” where participants will run a quarter of a mile, drink a beer, and repeat three more times until they’ve finished four brews and a one mile run. It was fun/gross to watch last year.

Music-wise, Jesse Aycock and Paul Benjamin will perform together at George’s Majestic Lounge, there’s a four band bill at Backspace featuring locals May the Peace of the Sea Be With You and Dylan Earl, and Denver band, The Guestlist.

Up in Rogers, singer, songwriter, and actress Elle King will perform a show in association with the NW Arkansas Championship LPGA festivities at the Walmart AMP. Tickets start at $9, and last we heard, there were still some available.
