Weekend Flyer: July 14-16, 2017

Friday, July 14

The Widdler

Local artist group Fenix Fayetteville will host a conversation with five Arkansas artists at 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 14 inside the historic Walker-Stone House, 207 W. Center St., in downtown Fayetteville. Artists Cindy Arsaga (encaustics), Carol Corning (glass/mixed media), Jan Gosnell (painting), Leilani Law (painting), and Ed Pennebaker (glass) will talk about their work as part of the group’s July exhibition currently on display at the Walker-Stone House.

There’s some good music in town as well. 3 Penny Acre, the band made up of locals Bryan and Bernice Hembree and local luthier Bayard Blain, will reunite for one night only at Stage Eighteen. The band will perform at a special Bayard Guitars presents show. The event will include a meet and greet for luthiers and guitar enthusiasts as well as an unveiling of his newest locally-built instruments. Here’s more info.

Also in tunes, excellent locals The Too’s and Russellville group Jamie Lou & the Hullaballo will play together at Smoke & Barrel Tavern.
