Notes: This is the final financial move needed to begin the 80,000-square-foot expansion of the Fayetteville Public Library. Voters last year approved a millage increase that was projected to provide $26.5 million to put toward the $49 million project. The bonds sold for $26.9 million, which will give the project about $400,000 more than expected. The next steps are to finalize an architecture contract and complete negotiations for demolition and construction. It could be early 2018 before construction begins.
